A graduate of the University of the South (Sewanee) and Washington and Lee School of Law, Mr. Heck is a Chestertown native. He is following in the footsteps of his father, Preston Patterson Heck, Esq., who practiced from the 1930s to 1969, using the same c. 1870 Court Street office in the latter part of his career. Sam is a U.S. Army veteran (9th Infantry Division, Combat Infantry Badge, Purple Heart) and a member of the Maryland State Bar Association and the Kent County Bar Association. He was the inaugural Chairman of the Chestertown Historic District Zoning Commission. Admitted to the Maryland State Bar Association in 1992, Mr. Heck has practiced law for more than two decades in Maryland.
